Franchise co-owner Richard Nash said usual weekend trade at the Pall Mall restaurant nearly tripled during the fundraiser and thanked the Grill’d Bendigo staff, managers and community for its support.

“It’s a little staggering,” Mr Nash said.

Mr Nash said up to 25 people were working on any given shift throughout the three days, with reinforcements coming from Ballarat and Melbourne.

Bendigo Health Foundation manager Rachel Mason said specialist equipment for birthing and gauging jaundice in babies were at the top of their wish list to be used in the Women’s Ward and Special Care Nursery, who will benefit from the donation.
