Today we got another step closer to the purchase of a transperineal biopsy, specialist prostate cancer theatre/oncology equipment. Some of our very generous donors made a visit to meet with Nurse Practitioner, David Heath and Urology Consultant, Rohan Hall who have championed the purchase of the equipment. A big thanks to Dick Phillips and Hayley Lawton from The Horizon Committee, Neil MacDonald and Bert Moorhead from The Bendigo and District Prostate Cancer Support Group and Brian Baker from the Bendigo Radiotherapy Foundation for their donations and support of the equipment.

This biopsy equipment is becoming the standard of care and ensures an accurate and safer approach to the biopsy of the prostate, it also has lower rates of infection post procedure. This results in timely diagnosis and treatment for men with prostate cancer. The equipment will benefit people in the Loddon Mallee and visiting Bendigo Health.
