Supporting Paediatric and Neonatal Care
The Bendigo Health Foundation has supported the purchase of four new oximetry machines, helping improve care for babies and children across the Loddon Mallee region.
The devices help our paediatric team conduct overnight sleep studies in hospital and home-based studies, which can eliminate the need for hospital admission, making assessment more accessible and reducing disruption for children and their families. The machines gather information that helps guide ongoing care and supports clinical decision making across a range of health specialities, including Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT).
Additionally, the Oximeters support the neonatal team in caring for babies, assisting with safe assessment and weaning of supplemental oxygen.
Linny Phuong, Clinical Director of Women’s and Children’s, said:
“This generous donation strengthens our ability to provide specialised paediatric and neonatal care closer to home, reducing the need for families to travel outside the region while supporting safe, family-centred care. We are incredibly grateful to the Bendigo Health Foundation for this valuable support, which is having a real and practical impact on the health outcomes and experiences of babies, children and families across the Loddon Mallee region.”
Together, our community is helping create better experiences for babies, children and their families.
