Locals donate generously for Christmas

23 Dec 2021

Christmas is known as a time for giving and our local community has shown many acts of kindness in the lead up the festive season.

We have been overwhelmed with generosity from our community helping us ensure ”Santa” arrives for children within the hospital from business such as the Belmont Hotel with Barbie buses to individuals and community groups including Trails and Ales donating $1500 worth of gifts to our children’s ward.

We thank the many local community groups, businesses and individuals who have chosen this time of year to make a truly generous Christmas.

  • Priority 1 Property regularly donate gifts to Bendigo Health over Christmas, this year supplying books and other items for a range of paediatric age groups.

  • Social running group and craft beer lovers, Trails & Ales, donated $1500 to buy gifts for paediatric patients

  • Fresh fruit supplies are being generously donate by McKern Steel Foundation to support frontline staff over the holiday season.

  • Epsom Primary School made a donation of Christmas decorations to the Children’s Ward as part of their 12 days of Christmas in the Junior School Program.

  • The Stephen’s family raised funds selling chocolates to help ensure every child at Bendigo Health receives a gift on Christmas day.
  • A teenager who had previously spent time in Bendigo Health’s Children’s ward created a handmade dollhouse to pay it forward to other children who require hospitalisation.

  • The Belmont Hotel staff and patrons donated gifts to provide to children within the hospital over Christmas.

  • Families at Jenny’s ELC donated an incredible number of gifts for children who attend Bendigo Health’s Emergency Department and Children’s Ward over the festive period.
  • 14 year old, Sarah, received donations to cut her long hair and generously donated what she raised to the Cancer Centre at Bendigo Health.
  • Accredited Distributors supplied staff in our Covid clinics with chocolate marshmallow Santas.

  • A local family donated art packs and presents to the Bendigo Health Children's Ward.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported our fundraising initiatives over 2021 and given back to your local community by supporting Bendigo Health Fundraising & Foundation.

Donations to the Bendigo Health Christmas Appeal are being accepted until February 2022.
