Books for Babies

We fund programs that are focused on a better future for the people in our region. The Bendigo Health Books for Babies Program aims to improve the language and literacy levels for children aged five and under in Greater Bendigo, which are lower than the Victorian average.

Our people are passionate about working with the community so they can receive the same opportunities as those in metropolitan areas. Through the Books for Babies program, every family with a new baby born in Bendigo receives a free book, tips on reading to babies, library registration information and local literacy resources.

Research tells us that children who have positive interactions with their caregivers from birth, through reading, singing, talking and playing every day builds a strong foundation for future learning.

Proudly sponsored by Empowering Eaglehawk, Bendigo Northern District Community Enterprise and Strathfieldsaye & Districts Community Enterprise.

If your organisation would like more information about Books for Babies and is interested in providing funding to the program, please contact us at bhfoundation@bendigohealth.org.au or on 1300 243 000.
